Overview
The Terrain Advocate plays a vital role in the individuals healthy journey and in implementing the Metabolic Approach. Often being the initial guiding hand the Terrain Advocate assists in kick-starting the health journey, directing valuable resources, and aiding in assembling the team of expert practitioners to support the healing process.
As a Terrain Advocate, one serves as a:
- Translator: assisting clients in comprehending their physician's advice and recommendations.
- Bridge: connecting physicians and patients, fostering better communication.
- Navigator: guiding patients through their unique cancer journey.
- Educator: informing and empowering about the why and what can be done.

Terrain Ten
Our approach focuses on transforming the cancer terrain (the patient’s body and environment) by addressing key elements that play a crucial role in prevention and healing.

You’ll receive a graduation certificate and opportunity to join our network of Certified Terrain Advocates™.
Certification
You will have the opportunity to join our Certified network of Terrain Advocates and be part of the Metabolic Approach to Cancer community, which includes our practitioners.
Meet your instructors
Dr. Nasha Winters
ND, FABNO, Executive Director & Co-FounderDr. Nasha is a trailblazer in the metabolic approach to cancer. With an innovative training program for physicians and an advocacy program for non-physicians, she's on a mission to enlighten the world and push the boundaries of medicine.
Steve Ottersberg
Bio-Organic Chemist, CSO & Co-FounderSteve is a highly experienced chemist and college-level professor with expertise in Bio-Organic Chemistry, drug design, and clinical analytical chemistry. He is also a respected thought leader in the cannabis science field, having founded and directed a state-certified testing laboratory. With over 20 years of experience in physician consults and research in environmental medicine and oncology, Steve is currently the Chief Scientific Officer of Research at the Metabolic Terrain Institute of Health and Metabolic Terrain Omics.
Cindy Kennedy
President & Co-FounderCindy's extensive leadership experience, innovative spirit, and commitment to making a difference make her an excellent instructor for the Terrain Advocate Program. Cindy has a heartfelt commitment to societal impact, specifically aimed at transforming the outlook of disease management. Driven by a desire to make a profound difference, Cindy channels her energy into advocating for better approaches to prevention, treatment, and living with diseases such as cancer. Her dedication to collaboration and teamwork amplifies her impact, fostering unity in pursuing common goals.
Janet Ottersberg
Director of EducationJanet's work with Cancer, Autism and ADHD led her to explore the connection between childhood disease and metabolic disorders. Her passion for health and leadership skills brought her to MTIH, where she now leads the education division, bringing metabolic health education to health practitioners and advocates all over the world. Her extensive experience and unwavering commitment to educating the masses makes her an inspiring and effective leader in the field of metabolic health.
Alexandria Sanchez
Education Program ManagerAs a certified advocate, Alex's dedication is to building a community that is guiding individuals on their path to healing. Her passion for integrative health has deep-rooted origins. Drawing from her personal experiences, Alex is passionately expanding the educational outreach at the Metabolic Terrain Institute of Health. She stands firm in her belief that a metabolic-centric approach to health can be a beacon for many on their healing journey.

You’ll receive an email with an application form that you can fill to get on the waitlist.
There are two Cohorts per year, April and November, we’ll notify you by email when enrollment for these opens.
The email will contain the start date, payment information, and steps you should follow to complete the enrollment.

There are two options available, pay upfront, which comes with a discount or pay over twelve months.
Global pricing
Global pricing is available for those outside of the United States
Discounts
We offer discounts to advocates who are already part of our network. Education grants are available to those who qualify and based on available funds
